About NMBTS

DEFINITION

A school is a community of men and women devoted to the increase, preservation, and application  of knowledge. The  Church  of  God  in  Christ  of  Northern  Mississippi  Biblical  Training Seminars are dedicated to the service of all people interested in further developing themselves for the service of the Lord through teaching, research, and public service.

IDEAS AND VALUES

A  true  school  is  not  content  merely to  preserve  and  transmit  knowledge received from the past. The staff and students must push forward the frontiers of knowledge in all areas of biblical and related studies.   They must study and evaluate the CHARACTERS, GREAT TRUTHS, DOCTRINES, EVENTS, PROMISES, COMMANDS, and REVELATIONS of the BIBLE.  The Bible student develops intellectual keenness, clarifies spiritual and ethical values, and acquires knowledge and skills necessary  for  an  effective  life  of  service for  the  WORK  OF  THE  MINISTRY.    The  Biblical  Training Seminars are simple enough for the beginners but yet offers a great challenge to the advanced.

INTELLECTUAL FREEDOM

The School is a community of teachers and students bound together by a common love for learning to increase and preserve our intellectual heritage.  Good learning increases, minds are revived, and knowledge is transformed to useful applications when men and women are free to question and seek for answers, free to learn, and free to each.
